It was a Bank Holiday to put your feet up for all those runners who took part in the Westminster Mile Race over the weekend. The timely sunny weather was ideal for a summer-spirited occasion, with the course starting along The Mall and continuing around St James’ Park with the finishing line outside Buckingham Palace. The medal awarded to all participants was also engraved with an image of the palace. Record-breaking Olympian Seb Coe joined the runners but it was no surprise that he was unable to match the personal bests of his golden years. He recorded a time of dead on six minutes.
