Take a sporty leap into the new year. It’s new year’s resolution time and many an overindulged party type is dragging themselves wearily towards the nearest gym. But hang on.Whether you want to sweat off a few pounds, are seeking something beyond run of the mill jogging events or wish to become an Olympic heptathlete hurdler like Jessica Ennis-Hill why not try hurdling? Lee Valley Centre’s winter training sessions are ideal for keep fit enthusiasts with their eye on the out of the ordinary. Kickstart your new year by pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone and set the agenda for a full throttled 2016.
If you’ve never tried it before that’s no problem because coaches Brian Hopkin and Lloyd Cowan encourage all levels from beginners to experienced. Seasoned runners will be happy to know that not only will there be a number of guest coaches to put them through their paces but personal coaches who wish to attend do not have to pay. Otherwise each
session costs £6 for everyone else and runs from 12.30pm to 4.30pm on weekends.
If you missed the new year day session on January 1, no sweat. The next Winter Hurdling sessions will be held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on:
