It was bakes galore at HOT BAKES – The London Bake Off 2016 held in Clarendon Hall of York House, Richmond on 17th December. And why not? What better time to get stuffed with cakes n bakes than X’mas?
Londoners woke up to a thick, misty fog lining the overcast skies and chilly, wet weather that persisted over the weekend and acted as a deterrent making it easier for them to stay curled up in their homes. But the ones who braved the weather and made it to the event instantly warmed up to the sights of yummy baked delights by contestants Raquel Cruz of Cakelicious Croydon, Sabeen Mansoor of Pink Oven and Melissa Hall of Francesca’s Catering Cakes.
Judges Andre, an expert baker himself and Manager at a City Hotel catering to events and Mitsie of patisserie Mitsie’s Kitchen who teaches baking at Richmond Adult Community College had a tough job on their hands in judging the winner.
The winner takes all. And so Melissa Hall’s delicious rum cakes won in all 3 categories of Best health bake, design and taste to win the HOT BAKES – The London Bake Off 2016 trophy.
All participating contestants won prizes sponsored by Squires Kitchen Shop.
